New Belgium Brewing Company and Styrocore Expand Together
The majority of the Brewery's employees ride bicycles to work. New Belgium is the first wind-powered brewery in America. They continue to reduce energy requirements for the brewing process. New Belgium gives $1 per barrel annually to philanthropic causes. They take pride in recycling cartons, keg caps, amber glass, office materials and plastic shrink-wrap. Kim Jordan and Jeff Lebesch are co-founders and husband and wife. There received the Rocky Mountain Region Entrepreneur of the Year Award for manufacturing in 1999. |

At Stresscon's Styrocore wall panel plant in Erie, Colorado there is no special vibrating equipment to insure good aggregate consolidation as in the architectural plant in Colorado Springs. The panel is strictly an industrial grade panel to be coated with a textured paint after installation. However, the Neenan Company chose to sand blast the wall panels on the site after they were erected. The finish is a light to medium blast just showing the aggregate. It is uneven and not the quality of a good architectural grade sand blast but it complements the rustic wood office building and works for this particular project. |
