Broomfield Event Center

The Center will host more than 130 events each year – athletic events, rodeos, concerts, and other community functions. While owned by the City and County of Broomfield , Colorado , it will be managed by Wiens Frew Management Group, LLC. The venue will be home to two minor league sports teams – the Rocky Mountain Rage (hockey) and the Colorado 14ers (basketball). These two teams are co-owned by John Frew and Tim Wiens.

The Center has 6,000 seats, 25 suites, 900 club seats, a 200 seat restaurant, two club lounges and a separate basketball facility.

The precast/prestressed concrete consists of 581 pieces - 441 pieces of single leg risers, 5 pieces of triple risers, 117 pieces of walls and beams, and 18 stairs. Because the steel roof was under construction at the same time the precast was being erected, the precast was installed using two hydraulic cranes inside the building under the roof. In some cases the head room was only 20 feet and special rigging was incorporated to handle the pieces. The coordination between the steel and the precast erector was crucial and worked well.

The precast concrete erector for Stresscon was Hardrock Structures. The steel erector was LPR
