James Merrick State Parking Facility
This 199,400 square foot, 640 car, parking facility is another great example that parking structures don't have to look like parking structures. This new structure replaces an old smaller employee parking structure. The structure is a simple rectangle with punched openings and precast concrete spandrels that mimic the granite and marble finishes of the surrounding buildings. The finishes on the architectural surfaces is acid etched. Long, clear spans provide unobstructive view of parking areas by security cameras. Interior walls feature large openings for visibility and light distribution while the interior lighting design reduces shadowing and increases visibility. |
