This total precast concrete structure will house the press rooms for the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. The precast concrete structure has 252,000 square feet of supported area. Approximately 207,000 square feet of 10TT18 double tees were used for four levels of parking including one underground. The typical span here was 45'-0”. 31,000 square feet of 10TT24 double tees were used for the street lobbies and retail space. To support a dock area and ramp capable of handling HS-20 highway loading 14,000 square feet of heavily reinforced 10TT24 and 10TT32 double tees were used. The heavy loading was needed for the future replacement of electrical transformers.

For the first 3 levels of the exterior Architectural curved acid etched white and gray load bearing spandrels were used. The interior and exterior columns were fabricated with typical gray concrete. Architectural column covers were used on the exterior columns.

The project incorporates 1283 pieces of precast structural and architectural concrete – 1048 structural and 235 architectural.

Above the precast concrete structure there are 10 levels of steel framing for the office areas.

This was a negotiated design-build team with Stresscon' Jerry Denison , PE working with design team for the initial concept. Jim Davis and Mike Faulkner were the project coordinators.
