Folsom Field Addition Colorado University

Stresscon was an important member of the winning team in this design competition. The winning design was the only one that included precast concrete principal to the structural solution. Because the installation of precast concrete was fast, it significantly shortened the construction schedule. Also, it was less disruptive to the surrounding facilities, which was a major factor in the success of the team.

There are four large precast concrete towers that provide the structural support and the lateral stability for the club seats and luxury skyboxes. The base of the towers includes acid etched “buff” concrete. The remainder of the towers utilized the traditional local flagstone that is the prevalent architectural material used through out the campus. There are large acid etched exterior walls with the school medallions cast in on the exterior entrance. The interior walls also have an acid etched finish.

The CU campus is considered one of the most beautiful in the USA and this significant structure is a great addition.
